Got fault code 22 up today. Knock sensor I think, anyone know what this is and what it does?

 

thats ur knocksensor its up on top ur engine just below the inlet manifold it monitors ur engine for det so it can retard or advance your timing had one go on mine

like all things its there for a reason mine was 109 inc vat frommy local subaru dealer what i did to make sure mine was faulty was to bolt it to the manifold for a day to see if the cel came on it didnt so pointed to the knock lsensor being buggered
