Default Does this noise sound familiar?

Drove to work this morning, for a change didnt have my radio on - drove 30 metres down the road and could hear a strange noise coming from the OSR wheel, got checked it wasnt flat or anything nope, back in drove a bit further really listening for it - its a very mild in time thumping/knocking noise that increase rythym along with road speed - went round a roundabout, the noise worsened slightly then went quieter when on the straight again, coasted down the road out of gear and again can hear this noise in time again- could this be a wheel bearing, rear shock issue please or anything other ideas? the car is a 1999 105k turbo 2000 wagon, (standard)

Many thanks in advance

Olly

Is it tight? Sounds stupid but never know. Otherwise rear shaft maybe? Does it stop making the noise under breaking?

Sounds like it might be a drive shaft?
