Default Lost 0.2 bar boost

1996 Wrx Sti
When i was test driving the car, it was boosting to 0.9 bar, once i bought the car the gauge (greddy) was taken off as it wasnt a part of a deal.

Fitted the boost gauge (greddy) 2 days ago and i only seem to be able to get 0.7 of a bar . Everything else was kept as is.

I plumbed into the tube that goes from the top of the aftermarket dump valve and into the manifold as it already had a connector in there, so i supposed the boost gauge was previously connected there.

However i did use a 1/8" T piece, can this be causing this as its too restrictive, or it shouldnt matter ?

Or is 0.75 a normal boost for a standard wrx sti that age ? Spoke to the previous owner and he seems to think that it was never boosting 0.9 either..

not likely to be 0.75 as that would be lower than the first wrxs (they were 0.8bar).
Does the car feel as quick?
if so i would check the boost gauge pipework.

Check all connections from the turbo, to the intercooler, in to the engine. Watch the pipe and gasket under the intercooler

Is the maximum boost the same in all the gears? My MY99 goes up to 1.0 bar in the higher gears such as 3,4 and 5 but gears 1 and 2 don't have as much boost.
