Default oil change / spark plugs

Hi all, just after a little advice.
Would like to change spark plugs and oil/filters on MY99 classic, are the plugs easy enough to access and change??
Also where is the oil filter, may sound a little crazy but do i need to drop lower engine cover to do this. Have read after this is completed, i need to remove plug leads from coil and crank over a few times to build pressure, am i correct, thanks

the spark plugs are not the easiest to acces, a few things have to be moved out the way first like the washer bottle, nothing major though, the secret is having a spark plug socket that is not too long as you want be able to get it in and not to short that it doesnt reach the spark plug,

the oil filter is at the bottom of the engine in the centre front, look under the engine and you will see it and the sump plug nut is just back a bit.if you have a oil temp gauge it will have a wire comin from it.

oil change
got the oil changed, new subaru filter and sump plug seal

total cost £50 for 5litres of shell helix ultra 5w 40
filter and sump plug seal from subaru £7.50

tools needed 26mm or 27mm spanner for the sump plug,or adjustable is what i used hence not sure exactly of the size.

undid sump plug ,undid oil filler cap, took off oil filter by hand.
left it for about an hour while i had my tea.
replaced sump plug and new seal
filled filter with oil took about 5 top ups to get it full
replaced new filter, hand tight
filled up with the rest of the 4litre bottle then topped upto the level with the 1litre bottle.took allmost 4.5litres

undid the ignition leads and turned it over a few times, then replaced them and started the car, watched the oil pressure gauge move around the .6 mark it settled there after a short time, went for a drive and all is fine, sits at .6 under accelaration and about .25 at idle

If your doing oil and plugs then you can change the plugs from underneath. If you can jack the car up and support it safely it's easy.
