Possibly useful paint info?

Having just had a good look, it would seem that if you need to respray small bits of your P&J (like, in my case, to get rid of the *stupid* reflectors on the front) and you have had the wisdom to get an Impreza in DBM then there is a less expensive way of doing it...
Tamiya (the model people) do acrylic and some other sort of spray paint for £4.99 a tin. One of their colours, TS-51 Telefonica Blue, is so close to an exact match to DBM that it's virtually indistinguishable.
I may be talking b0llocks, of course, and someone will tell me that This Will Not Work, but it seems OK to me. I'll be repainting my bits as soon as I get a chance, and will post results...

Confused about DBM.
The colour seemed to change in about 1999. My MY00 is a different blue to earlier cars. Which one does the paint you suggested match?
I tried taking a bit of teh car (the petrol flap) into Halfords and matching it with the racks of paint. I ended up with a Rover colour which sort of matched if you don't look to hard.

If you want the *proper* colour, all you have to do is go down to your local motor trade paint supplier with an aerosol mixing facility, and get them to mix up whichever colour you like!

I'm referring to 95H Deep Blue Mica on a 2001 WRX.
I wouldn't suggest spraying big bits, but it's ideal for(for example)things like the dinky little pseudo-vents that TSL do to replace the reflectors at the front...
