Question

I'm trying to work out why Star Performance Rolling Road up in Scotland apparently gives lower horsepower readings than PE's

Could be that all our cars are slower up here but I hope not !

Does the PE RR increase RPM at a set rate ? and if so, what rate ?
ie how long does the power run take ?

I recall that a standard acceleration rate for Dyno testing was 300 rpm/sec but that was a bench dyno, not sure if same applies to rollers

thanks

I'm no expert on this, but I think its just down to variations between the machines. The one at Powerstation reads lower than PE too. No surprises that everyone goes to PE!!! I guess if everyone goes to the same place it is a wee bit easier to compare figs, even tho' they will still be influenced by the conditions on the day.

I think Star and Powerstation have the same set-up and seem to give fairly similar results.

Power Engineering are having their rollers refurbished very soon and i think they will be more acurate after that!!!

Well the strange thing is that standard cars, especially Evos, give very similar readings between PE and PS - it's just the tuned cars that read differently!
