Post Which Octane Booster=V Power?

Hi all, with my scoob happily gulping down V Power quicker than an alcoholic during happy hour, I want to know which is the best octane booster to use 'IF' the whole 'Tanker Strike' starts to cause a shortage? I'm not panicking, its just there is only one Shell station near me and I don't want to get stuck. I've been mapped for V-Power so I need an equivalent. I have a Tesco nearby but they only stock 97 ron, not 99 ron. So which octane booster and which 'Super' will give me the best results? I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking about this

Martin.

Thanks Hux, where is the best place to buy this from, obviously there is fleabay or Halfords? Is it better to take it easy'ish while running on OB's? I was thinking of keeping some in the car as a back up while on holiday as well.

Not true, not all Tescos stations have the 99. Just get any super, and don't drive the car hard until you get some V-Power back in it.

Definitely two types - up north there's little in the way of Tesco super 99ron; mainly 97. As earlier poster says, just stick any superunleaded in and drive gently (so as to avoid any possible det and not to upset the ECU ) until you can replenish with V-power

Thanks for all your replies, I will grab some tomorrow. Its better to be safe than stuck! Does anyone know the nearest Tesco to Trowbridge that sells 99? We do have a big Tesco but no 99

Hiya

You will only find 99ron at Tesco Super Stores and not the smaller tesco's or Tesco Express's. Found this out last week when enquiring about why they woulnt take my club card at my local Tesco Express, but would in the Superstore. The lady said its because at the smaller stations, its not actual Tesco's fuel, but ESSO Fuel, therefore, thay cant give points when its not there own brand fuel.

That sounds a bit fishy.

Yeah, mines mapped on Tesco's 99 Ron, so its a pain having to drive miles to get fuel. Dont realy know any other garages that do equiverlent 99 ron and think V-Power is 98
