Smile What Turbo Type!!!

I know this has probably been asked numerous times although I cannot find the answer.

Can anyone please update me and let me know what type of turbo would be in a standard Jap Subaru Sti 2000 Import, and with mods what is the maximum BHP this could output before having to upgrage?

Thank you

If its an STi 5 or 6 then your turbo is a VF28 which are good for 320bhp max
If its an STi 3 or 4 then its a VF23 or VF24 which are good for upto 340 bhp
If its an STi 1 or 2 then its a TD05 which is good for 350 bhp

It's an Sti 6.

So what would be the recommended turbo to upgrade to, as looking on here there seems to be a split.

What is the general census towards upgrading turbos in an Sti 6 if anyone has done this already.

Depends really, how much power you want and how much money you want to spend. The more power you aim for, the more componnents will require replacement as they won't be up to the job. I would think a second hand VF35 should be capable of 350bhp with good spool.

Thank you for your feedback.

In terms of reaching 350ish bhp, apart from the usualy mods e.g. de-cat, induction, re-mapping, uprated fuel pump, what other mods would be required?

FMIC?
Injectors changes?

All would be appreciated as I would then know what I am aiming for.
