Just recently my 95 wrx ra has started to hesitate now and then when I accelerate. I put my foot down and it almost dies and then suddenly picks up again and goes like a rocket. My mechanic suggested that it was most probably the mass air flow meter so I got hold of a second hand one for £60 and its made no noticable difference. It could be possible that ive bought another dud one but they cost over £200 new from subaru. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I am having a similar problem on my car atm which is a 2002 Impreza. Took it to Subaru today but they didn't find a problem at all. If you find a cure let me know as mine is getting to the point it is dangerous as i am sure yours might be too.
