Default Funny Feeling Thought Steering Wheel

I have a strange feeling coming though the steering wheel when i turn left at medium speed.

Usually at roundabouts.

The only way i can describe it as, its like splines slipping on a shaft. (notche kind of feeling)

There does not seem to be any noise.

Have I got a CV joint going?

Has any one had the same problem.

Cheers

Andy

It sounds more like a PAS pump issue, things to check are...

Fluid level
Belt tightness

If you loose assistance due to either a slipping belt or air going through the pump then the steering weights up quickly, the pump then starts to work normally again and you get assistance back and you then cycle through getting and loosing full assistance, typically at about 2Hz (twice a second).

The oil is at its max level and the steering does not go heavy as it would if the pump was starved of oil.

Two possibilities:
1. Damaged wheel bearing. Although when I had this problem, the notchiness was at all steering angles
2. Damanged CV joint. Yes, this does sound like a possibility

Cheers m8

Think it might be a CV joint.

When it went for its MOT they found the Left CV Boot had split.

The funny feeling happens when i turn to the left.

So will it be more likley to be the left CV thats going.
