I want my MY01 2.5 Legacy to sound like my MY06 2.5 WRX Impreza.
Is this possible?
Why do they sound different anyway?
What do I need to make it sound the same?

Hi , try a Borla manifold for the non-turbo engines. Some of the guys on .:ImprezaSport.net:. should be able to point you in the direction of where to get them in the UK, else try the Borla website in the US

An NA will never sound like your WRX, anything with equal length primaries and secondaries in the exhaust manifolding keeps the exhaust pulses seperated equally, the normal Impreza turbo has a much longer routing from the left bank cylinders to the join, than from the right bank, this means the pulses are either closer together (and are heard as one) or further apart, giving the characteristic burble.

Terry the Borla is an uneven length manifold which wraps the exhaust around the front of the engine like a turbo


Think this is the one you would want, but like I was saying , post on ImprezaSport.net as a few on their have fitted them and can tell your more or tell you where their vid/sound clips are
