Im having an electrical nightmare and suspect a fried ECU Can anyone kindly lend me a Z4 ECU to try out? I will pay shipping costs etc etc. Based in Aberdeen.

 

Be easier to pick up a 2nd hand standard ecu to try, and keep as a spare,
I have a couple spare but not a Z4 spare.

 

Yes easier said than done though. I have an electrical problem and the costs are mounting up.

As said above, you would be better of finding a cheap 2C, U8, W6, or W9. These can go for peanuts if you look in the right place. They will work perfectly fine in your car. They were fitted to the early mk1 wrx import imprezas. Finding a second hand z4 ecu fitted to your later mk1 impreza will be harder, they tend to go for around £150 as they are 260ps as apposed to 240ps. At least then youll know if it is your z4.

 

theres a u8 on fleebay now but its vastly over price. hang out for a bit if you can as ive seen them go for as little a tenner on there. Failing that ask around for a codes ive mentioned on here, far more chance of someone having one of those lying about than a z4
