Default Turbo heat shield

hi I fitted my decat downpipe over the weekend and now my heat shield will not fit over the turbo and downpipe can i leave this off or does it need to go back on my car is a classic wrx import on a k reg thanks

You have to trim it, or just leave it off.

You ought to try to trim and refit it really.

The turbo when on boost can glow cherry red and produces a vast amount of heat, & your car runs a manual speedo cable which runs up right next to the turbo & then through the bulkhead. I have seen these melt when there is no heat shield present. This then stops the speedo working which in turn will put the car into limp home mode.

Better safe than sorry

heat shield also helps keeps temparature down and away from top mount intercooler i trimed mine and it runs better especialy now the summer is hear and more warem air to cool down
