Funny enough Toby I went to take my service book back to Day's today for the change over to 10k servicing
I booked mine in for a body service ( NO IDEA OF COST THOUGH - SORRY )

my friend says they had to have a body service which cost them £130. they were parked in asda, and when they came back somebody had gone but knocked their door into theirs.

Yes, it cost about £130, and the car smeels of Waxoyl for the next month. Probably worthwhile having it done if you live anywhere the roads are salted right through the winter, or near the sea.

Shop around - I got quoted between about £120 & £170 plus vat from different dealers (MY 00 - not that that makes much difference when they're just squirting Waxoyl in).
I was told that the car would stink as mentioned above, but I didn't find it too bad at all.

Certainly do shop around. Mine cost 75ukp+VAT from an authorised dealer. Not sure if the work different dealers do for the bodywork service varies but the prices certainly do. The car does stink afterwards!

My 3 year one cost £75 all in I think, and the car stank afterwards - had it done in the summer and went to Kemble Airfield the following day for an Easytrack day... nice and smelly in the helmet!

and probably still smells like kipper!
i didnt bother with the body service on MY00, i sprayed wax oil round myself at that price!
plus in 3 years it will have so many miles on it i will only get peanuts for it! so i didnt bother.
sick of chucking money at dealers! never had to pay for body service at Audi!
