Default 400 sti upgrade

What is the best route to a reliable 400/400 for an sti bugeye?

The car is only going to be used on trackdays so noise levels need to be reasonable.

yep, getting 400lb/ft may be difficult on the standard internals, not impossible but will have to have associated ancilliaries to match.

I am running 464bhp & 394lb/ft on my uk sti8 (measured at Powerstation) but that is running with 10%meth.

a stack of fvckin money to start with mate, the internals might be able to support it, not sure how reliably though, 400lbs of torque is a lot on the gearbox, even for a 6 speed like the sti's - a hawkeye bottom end will really bring the torque up.

What exact spec are you starting with? is it de-catted? is it just the standard 265ps?

Engine is standard 265, maybe setting sights too high then.
I was thinking about £4000 to spend would get me near those figures?

well, a full de-cat and re-map will get you around 330ish probably, hard to say torque wise, thats the easy bit, the extra is seriously more £.....maybe some headers, you could see about increasing torque and keeping it at 330 bhp ish....

Then you might, or you will need the suspension mods if using for the track....coilovers/uprated springs, ALK, rear ARB, droplinks....

It can and will get very expensive mate, Im not really the best to ask, im sure the others will chip in later
Theres a whole host of things you can do, my advice would to be prolly seek the advcie of some respected mappers like Bob Rawle, Andy F, JGM etc etc.....they all post on here and will respond to emails

MD321H plus headers (Lateral Performance). £2000
Larger injectors plus up-graded fuel pump. £600
Re-map and 3" exhaust system. £1500

Labour ?

IMHO

DunxC

P.S. just spent three days fitting the above, except FPR in place of larger injectors.
