Does this sound serious?
Hi all,
Right, arrived at my mates house Friday evening, parked the impreza on his drive and noticed a huge pool of coolant around the n/s/f wheel.
Popped the bonnet and it was coming out of the overflow on the filler neck behind the headlamp.Left it to cool down and checked the water which needed a bit of a top up.Thought nothing of it (probably a stupid thing to do) until yesterday afternoon when i got a split in a coolant hose (the one that runs from the top of the expansion tank to somewhere near the turbo).
Not wanting to leave the car where it was i decided to to a quick repair to get it back to another mates house to see what was what.
Got it back and removed the hose to try and do a better job of it,so after a quick patch up i decided to try and get it home, about a 15 mile journey.
Got about 2 miles and the temp gauge shot right up again so pulled into a lay-by,popped the bonnet and was greeted with a faceful of steam,so left it a minute to clear and had a look. All the steam seemed to be coming from under the head (Drivers side) but there were no traces of leaks on the floor.
Sorry for the long post but this really worrying me,god knows why it pressured up like that, the car isn't really driven hard and this is the first time this has happened.Any ideas??
