Default Turbo failure???

Hi guys,

after 15 years and 65k miles I think the turbo on my 93 wrx has gone

I was on the back roads today driving between 65-75mph an I backed off in 5th gear, when I put my foot down again there was no boost...no noises...no smoke either. The boost gauge was showing negative pressure on idle but on acceleration it would'nt go over 0 bar.

I pulled over and checked the intercooler, vacuum pipes etc and they all seemed in order. The car still drives fine, idles fine and gets up to speed fine (well now slowly)

When the turbo went on my R5 gt turbo there was white smoke and nasty metallic noises but on the scoob its drives fine theres just no boost....oh yeah, its a little louder

Hi mate have you checked if the actuator is still connected cos the clip that holds it may of come off and causing it to come apart and you will lose actuator pressure, hence no boost etc. I think im right but im sure someone knows more if it is that, im not sure if you can just reconnect and will be ok or if you have to have turbo setup again so best give a specialist a ring and ask there are plenty out there with good advise,
SCOOBYCLINIC 01246590807 give them a call and ask for mark or andy !!!!! goog luck.

It was the actuator circlip. It had come off meaning the actuator rod came off, ive fixed it good as new
