Default wheel noise

Im getting an intermittent wheel screech, sounds like rubber on rubber if you will, but theres nothing touching the tyre or brake flexi etc??

Had the outer CV boot off to have a look in, there was a few shards of metal in the grease like something had shot to bits, cleaned all the grease out and it seems fine, re greased it etc. Its quite loud and embarrassing when it does it.

Did a 20 mile drive today without the noise, left it for an hour, then gave my dad a lift up the road and it did it all the way there and back

Any metal debris in the CV boot is a sign of impending failure.
Do you get a clicking noise on full lock - if so the CV joint is shot.
