Default Headers fouled by sump!

Have just found that my new ARC big wing sump gets in the way when i try to refit my gt - spec headers!

I tried a standard set of headers and they fit fine, but obviously i need a performance set of headers that will fit!

suggestions?

Hack the offending sump up and weld-up !

Sorry !

But it is the most likely out-come...

Really don`t want to go down this route if at all possible,

2 options so far,

Replace with Harvey Headers,

Possibly blitz headers fit?

Still stuck on this, anyone have a definitive answer?

why would ARC make a sump that no headers fit around?

They didn't

I tried a standard set of headers and they fit fine
Aftermarket manufacturers can't possibly consider all others when designing products. Sorry I don't have an answer for you, it'll be suck it and see with this.

If you're not aiming higher than 350HP then ported headers will be fine. In fact they're fine for more than that, but tubular headers are better past 350 IMO

If you dont want to change the manifolds, or modify the sump...you could buy a new sump that will work.

Pretty sure Adam ( from 22b ) or Mark ( Mark/Lateral ) used one of the ARC sumps years ago...and had to cut it.

Most manifolds follow the same path, so you will probably struggle to source anything dramatically different.

Thats either a custom set, or someone has taken to them with a grinder/welder to adjust them.

or perhaps a twin scroll setup ?? still looks to have been modified around the sump area with the bends welded in

Anyone any experience with borla headers?

http://www.racepages.com/images/prod...orla/17183.jpg

these seem to take a more promising route, but don`t list for 2.0 turbo......

Strange looking headers. Not like the Borla ones we've used in the past. The ones Ive seen before, are the typical 4 tubes.

i've got a arc sump on mine and had it with ported headers up untill 371hp then had the sump cut and welded when i wanted more and have since fitted gt spec headers and made a massive diff to how it drives! now running at 420hp, prob not what you wanted to here but if you want those headers on there you will have to get the sump cut n shut, hope that helps luke

These look like non turbo headers,

Hayward & Scott in Basildon could probably do you a modified set of their headers. Wouldn't be cheap though.
