Default which upgrade?

hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section,
i currently drive an 02 wrx with ppp which makes 261bhp at the flywheel and about 250 lb/ft torque and i recently drove a hawkeye sti type uk which accelerates way better than my car, so i would like to get my car to this sort of power level, i have been looking around the internet and there are lots of performance package upgrades by many differant companys so i would like some advice on who to take my car to in the nottingham area please?
many thanks
neill.

The hawkeye has the 2.5 lump drives very differently to your 2.0 with TD04 turbo.

You will have to change the turbo, injectors, intercooler etc and then get it re-mapped. Even then the power will come up higher in the rev range due to lack of cubic capacity over the 2.5.

Then you will have to think how the suspension and brakes cope with the extra power.

not to mention the gearbox LOL

I have a bugeye WRX (MY 02) which I have modded and unless you source a lot of the parts second hand you might be better off starting with an STi.

Just IMHO

I have one word for you 'Ecutek'. Talk to the likes of Bob Rawle, Andy F or JGM on here and they can advise you. Ecutek will transform your car and give you a lot more power and improve driveability. I had my MY99 remapped by Bob Rawle and it is now sooo much better. It went from 215bhp 227 lb/ft to 281bhp and 312 lb/ft! The only other changes were a Magnex cat back system and a KN panel filter. It is a bit pricey but you will never regret it.

From a nearly skint WRX owner, buy an STi to start with! LOL.
Don't go down the modded WRX route, all you will end up with is a car that could strip it's gearbox at any minute.
I mean, i am a nancy in 1st now and never launch.
I dont want my 357 ib/ft to waste my box! HAhaha.

If your engine was tired, a 2.5 short motor will cost around £1500....

Then you need to swap all your parts onto it, and re-fit.

Quite expensive.

STI turbo plus injectors will get more power, but not that sort of bottom end urge.

I tried a STI hatch and it did seem to have a great surge of torque, mine's only 2L but pulls way harder at higher revs.

P.S. TSL Motorsport or Tractive are both close to you.
