I wouldn't accept anything less than £4k for a 1993 turbo if it was mint. Go and find another at a dealer for less than that, and why should you break your ***** and waste your time scouring auto trader for a bargain just because the insurance company felt like stiffing you after gladly taking your premium in the first place.
If you call them every day and become a pain in their bum, they'll agree a fair price with you. Make sure you decide on what your willing to accept before you start going back and forth with them.

No, but then you have to do some donkey work and harp on to them about their legal requirement to give you a fiar price for the car. Go and get some quotes from dealers for a replacement (ie go and find the most expensive 1994 turbo in the country, then the next most expensive, then the 3rd most expensive) and send them off to the insurance company. The key here is in proving that replacing the car will cost you x thousand pounds, and lets be honest most sub 3k subaru's are on their last legs.

What are you on about?
They will offer you the lowest price possible to start with, if you can provide evidence that the offer is low they are obliged to pay out a fair and reasonable price.
I personnally know 2 people who have had to go through the same process before getting a decent settlement.
