Wrx RA 1996 swap to Sti?
Hi guys.
I tried the search button for some hours, and couldnt find a thread that gave me the information I wanted to have.
I have a Wrx RA Early 1996 (that "had" 334 bhp), :/ and the crankshaft went thru the block. I am now looking for used engines.
My questions that Im dying to know about is:
What engine could I use for a easy swap? Is the Sti v2 engine or maybe Sti v4 engine easy to swap without major conversions?
And if there are some conversions, what is it? (Ecu, wiring, Turbo connection, coil packs?)
Im sitting and waiting for order a complete used engine without turbo, and dont know what engine I shall chose. Please give me a detailed answer so I can sort this mess out
Thank you with all my heart

I presume that yours is a phase 1 (coil packs down near spark plugs) therefore the v2 sti would be the easiest, however a v3/4 will fit, I fitted a V3 sti engine to my uk Subaru legacy turbo by myself DIY style and it works very well. I have since removed the engine to make way for a 2.5 but the bottom end (-pistons) is for sale £280 collected!
