Default Which ecu

hi hope someone can help with this ! i bought a 2001 uk 300 witch is supposed to be already chipped. it is fitted with a v3 ecu. is there any way of telling if it has been done or does it need to go to rolling road ? cheers.

2001 UK300 will have a Gems board (An FCD in disguise) fitted to it...
If remapping this will need to be removed for the map sensor to get a true reading...
If you remove the ecu from the passenger floorwell and remove the lid you will see the device wired in...

Yep, shoould have a Gems board mounted inside.
5 wires, black, Red, Blue, Yellow and Green IIRC.
Yellow and Green are wired to the Map sensor pin, with the pin cut.

If you cut all wires and rejoin the cut pin with the leftover yellow and green wires, the ECU will then run a standard WRX Map. Then you can map it up using OpenECU or ECUTEK.
