Default The new wrx engine

Well brought a new engine finally this weekend for the wrx but it has arrived with metal timing belt sprockets and my old ones are plastic, does any1 know why the engine we brought would have the metal ones?

is yours an import? thats the only difference i can think of. Unless you have a GL engine! lol

yea the engine was an import from japan def not a GL knw that much lol

lol cool...my mrs import has plastic & my UK has metal sprockets, or is it the other way round? lol I have had a beer lol

The early jap Legacys had metal cam pulleys,just check the rocker covers where the coil packs bolt in - if it has 2 bolt holes for the coil packs then it is a Leggy engine and not a WRX engine which has 1 bolt coil packs.

The engine in my 93 wrx has metal cam pulleys.

With one bolt hole for the coil packs.
