Question Fuelab FPR fitting question.

Right, trying to fit a fuelab FPR at the moment, but I've stumbled on the first hurdle

The kit I've got has these blue 6-an fittings, and a 6an to normal fuel line converters (barbed ends). Do 6-an connections generally need o-rings?

I've got a two of these types: http://www.scpracingparts.com/Produc...oringflare.jpg

The adaptor (which I can't find a picture of, grr) comes in two parts. One part that is like a long version of this:
NOS NPT to Hose Barb Adapter Fittings: NOS-17539NOS - summitracing.com
Apart from the thread at the bottom, where it's just a block that is shaped like the female side of the fitting above.
The second part is a bolt looking type that clamps the barbed fitting down onto the first.

My question is, do I need some kind of o-ring between the parts somehow, or are they designed to be clamped together so hard that they 'mould' to each other (similar to like an NPT thread)?

Managed to find the camera so snapped some pics to explain what I meant.

The fitting open:

closed up:

the adaptor itself:

Btw, the bottom hole is the return, yes? Also, is the vacuum reference in the right place?

yes that the correct way to assemble the fittings, the vacuum is correct and the small blanking plug in the side of the body is for a fuel gauge if needed..........

the fuel flow is in the side and then the return line is piped from the bottom outlet

Cheers Alyn,

so no need for an o-ring or any gasket inside the fittings themselves? Are the supplied o-rings for fitting between the FPR body and the hose connector?

You only need o rings where the -6 fitting screws into the reg' it self (supplied in the fitting kit). The -6 male to tail fitting doesn't use o rings, they just need to be done up quite tightly.

Duncan,

There are two versions, 2, & 3 port.I think the 2 port is a little neater, but some prefer the 3 port if they have parallel rails, or two pumps.
