Does anyone know how many hours it would take a garage to replace the water pump?

Remove auxilary belts , remove crank pulley ,Cam covers off , cam belt off , remove old water pump (water poors out every where ), refit new pump with new stat would not use old one ,!!!!Check front crank seal as only very cheap to buy may as well change while all in bits now and not have to do again later !!!! check tensioner may need replacing ,refit a NEW cam belt and align correctly ,refit cam covers , refit pulley !!! Make sure they torque it up to the correct setting tend to come loose use thread lock on the bolt !!!, refit belt . top up with anti freeze and water .

You may have to remove radiator to assist with access for removing pulley and access to cam cover bolts .

2-3 hrs for good mechanic as long as every thing comes off okay

Basically look at what's charged for a cambelt change - it's roughly the same job.
