Default Quick underbody engine tray question

Changed the oil in my 06 STI this evening and after removing the under engine tray stupidly forgot to look how it went back on.

Managed to get the passenger side of the tray at the rear clipped to the smaller one behind it and anchored to the body using the U clip that was holding it on.

However, on the driver side there wasn't a clip and I can't figure out how the tray joins to the one behind it.

Can anyone remember? Not sure if it will make much of a difference as the under engine tray is pretty secure, but it does move at the rear and looks like they should join.

You should have a "U" clip at each side on the rear mate, then the 4 bolts and plastic push fit buttons, I broke a clip on my Hawkeye, they are about £1.20 if I remember correctly

You don't actually need to refit this at all if you don't want to .... I've been running without one for 2 years no with no issues. Took it off when I fitted a larger sump. think it helps cooling with it off, as well as saving some nominal weight. Just don't go rallying !
