Default Turbo Dynamics Hybrid Turbo MD321

Please can you give me as much information as possible on the above turbo.

Will it fit as a direct replacement for a my03 wrx?

What type of bhp can I expect from this turbo?

Apparently, it's based upon a VF24 Hybrid and has a P20 Exhaust Housing and a VF30 Compressor Wheel Clipper. What does this mean?

How does this compare to the satndard VF24?

Thanks for your help. I need to know this info because I'm looking to buy a new turbo upgrade for my car.

I just want a turbo similar to td04 hybrid. It seems that this turbo gives far too much power for my needs. The only spec I got was Turbo Dynamic Hybrid Turbo md321 and P20 Exhaust Housing and a VF30 Compressor Wheel Clipper. very confusing. I don't even know what this turbo is let alone will it fit a my03 wrx. Seems the way I need to go is vf24 or td04 hybrid. I have done a search and found nothing.

The MD321T is good for 450bhp with supporting mods and is a direct replacement.

What are your goals?

You would benefit from the H version on the 2ltr
If you're going to spend that much on the tubo (I did!) you really should be looking at supporting mods to take advantage of such a good turbo, plus the re-map, of course!

The 321H and 321T will bolt on to your 03 WRX however they might be a bit too much for your needs.

If your just looking for an upgrade to get 340ish (with supporting mods) get yourself a VF35 from an 03 STi. It will bolt straight on. Whichever turbo you choose over your TD04 you will need to remap the ECU to suit.

I don't think you can beat a good old TD05 16G with the usual mods to 300 odd BHP... rock solid, easy to map and with enough grunt to have the cogs of your 3rd gear floating somewhere near the magnetic drain sump LOL

I'd suggest for your needs go look at AFPerformance.co.uk, Andy F / Andy Forrests' web site, where he sells TD04 hybrid turbos. 320 bhp is available from the TD04 hybrid, and loads of low down grunt, where, lets face it, we normally drive.

Call him and discuss?

The MD321 's are for 400 - 450 bhp levels.

Martwrxsl,

The MD321 range of turbos are "Lateral Performance" spec' turbos, and I have no idea what the turbo is you're describing.

NO MD321 turbo uses a VF30 compressor wheel, and it certainly wouldn't be clipped.

I would agree with others, that something along the lines of Andy Forrests TD04 hybrid, or a VF35, or 34 would be very good.

Mark.

Thanks for your help and advice guys. I have a td04 hybrid on order. Looking forward to an even quicker spool and more power after remap by JGM.
