this could be as easy as a new rad cap to blown head gasket.heres how to check for head gasket
1.is heater blowing hot air
2.does your oil look like a choclate milkshake
3.when you leave rad cap of when running can you smell exhaust gases
4.is a lot of water or white smoke coming out of exhaust.
your heater may not work also if the thermostat is goosesd.
have you check rad is not blocked.
give this a try.
