Default boost problem

i was coming down the road, giving it some in 4th........about 4-5000rpm i heard this massive squel - like a fan belt type scream. smoke out the exhaust, put foot on throttle again and all i got was the noise of boost building up but me going no further.......

stopped the car in the layby, started it again, idled around 800rpm, slightly off sounding.... tried to drive a little but the further i drove the more it tried to die out.

turbo was glowing red hot when i stopped

no other funny sounds from engine, smell of petrol though.

its dark and i have no torch but any ideas what i should look for in the morning?

my thoughts are:
split/ blown off hose
turbo
anything else.....?

I would look for a split pipe personally, could be under a jubilee clip so take al the inlet pipe off and have a good look, although if you struggled to move then i doubt you would miss it.

First thoughts are a blown/split turbo hose. The original tubo to intercooler plastic item has been known to give way.
