Blitz DD , has twin port ,one for low boost , so u dont get compressor surge , and another for high boost max 18psi , can upgrade spring for higher application and has a boost adjustment nut . Its quiet enough , except at high boost in the night .

Near to silent would be the Forge Re-circ then, thats your best bet, not a VTA though.

Vent To Air - those are the ones that make the noise. The one fitted to your car by Subaru is a recirculating one - it puts the air back into the system.

Some people say that a vent to air can cause fueliing issues and lots swap back again because of it. This is because the ecu knows how much air should be there and fuels to match - except with a VTA system you've got rid of it with a nice whoosh sound so the fueling is wrong.

Each to their own really as you can tell above, plenty have had good experiences as some have had bad.

oh, damn. tbh i always hated bovs. cos it makes the car sounds like its holding its breath and gasping for air, its just that my car's std bov is not handling the extra boost, so i desperately needing one,
i suppose a whoosh is better than a whistle

as long its a twin vent one and not too loud i think i be fine.

ps shall i get someone to fit one?

what would be best choices in between the ones that scoobyclinic, and scoobybits supplies?

From the various reviews and personal experience the HKS SSQV is one of, if not the best on the market and peoples' Scoobs seem to run better on these than on other VTA's. You don't get the whistle until you hit 4K revs, before then you just get a low whoosh like you are looking for.

Its recognised as the best sounding VTA around these parts for those that like VTA's.

How is your car not handling the boost? says it is standard under 'view my scooby'

the forge recirc should be a slightly more robust unit and obviously won't be noisy at all and shouldn't give any fuelling issues.

are you sure the car isn't leaking boost from elsewhere?

Go faster bits are good kit.

Mine is mapped too and even a mapped STi with over 300bhp can run the standard DV. I would have it looked at before you splash out and find it is something else. Anyone near you let you stick theirs on your car for a test run?

Centre decat only but boost is up and coming in much earlier after the Andy Forrest remap. Who did the car for you? My mate has a fully decatted one running 294 bhp on the standard dump valve, again no issues and an Andy F map.

I would be looking for another explanation by at least trying someone else's standard unit on your car before you spend the money.
