depends on what set up you have. A standard car wouldnt do it. but its pretty common with a decat and other mods

mine does it i have a blitz 5inch backbox apexi induction and consider it a bonus after all its meant to be a rally car ,as long as its not backfiring your fine

i have an 1995 sti with a 5 inch back box, fully de cated and a hks induction kit, it pops in 1st 2nd and sometimes 3rd - sounds awesome

I've got a 95 STI with a de-cat scooby sport exhaust and mine does it 1st - 2nd and 2nd-3rd. I thought it might be over fueling but had a chat with a few tuners and they said it was nothing to worry about.

Mines seems to pop after some hard driving.
I get flames out the exhaust sometimes aswell, is that just a case of over fueling, and nothing to worry about?

i do have a prodrive performance pack and a de-cat straight through exhaust so guessing im ok. i do really love the sound it makes but just thought i would check if im ok to keep laughing

perfectly normal for a modded car, bit of a worry if it standard. I have the blitz full system and after a bit of full boost mine pops like a good un lol
If i get the gearchange right, it does do it in between gears also. I would worry if it didnt pop.

Mine also does it. MY00 uk turbo, full decat with a hayward and scott full system. Love the sound, and peoples faces when they here it, lol

if i understand it correctly..it tends to happen if you fit a atmospheric dump valve because the car overfuels when the intake air is not recirculating back into the intake.
