2.5 CRANK IN A 2L BLOCK
Hey everyone
Im just about to start obtaining bits for a cdb rebuild and found a thread claiming you could have the 2.0l ej20 block machined to take an ej25 crank using 2.0l pistons and rods which took it out to around 2.1l
Im just looking for any info if this is possible and worth the extra money and if it would be reliable for a later 500bhp figure
Cheers folks
Craig

The block machining is due to the rear end and centre thrust differences the 2.5 crank has a rear end thrust where as the block has this centrally located, there are also crank options which use both centre and end thrust locations.
You would however need stroker pistons, or pistons and rods depending on how you want the 2.1 motor built.
The 2.1 with the larger displacement will make slightly more power on a like for like set up compared to the 2lt and will be a very revy motor.
If your planning on buying “Decent” forged rods and pistons, the price shouldn’t be to different for either option.

Thanks mate
ive got a cdb and standard length eagle forged rods so far, what size and brand of pistons would you recommend?if i supplied all the parts how much roughly would you charge for the machining and assembly of this block?ive had a quick look at your web site and think i might have to give you a phone and talk a bit more in depth!
Thanks v.much
