ECUTEK Remap
Hi guys
when you get a ECUtek remap, what do you get.
i dont mean power etc, i mean stuff, that says you have had a ECUtek remap.
do you get a cert or licence cert or something to show you have it done.
my mate, has just had him done, and all they gave him was a reciept saying ECUtek remap etc..
i would have thought since you have bought a so called Licence, you would get some document from ECUtek, or cert.
if my mate wants to go to another mapper, how do they know he already has the licence and just charge for a re-map.
Hope this makes sense.
cheers

You don't receive any paper license, it is permanently stored on the ECU.
Only the same mapper will reduce the charges for subsiquent maps.
For example, my car was originally mapped by Richard Bulmar at the full 650 to include the license. I then went to Bob Rawle, because i have the license he charged me less, BUT he cannot see Richard's map, only load his own on.
Any further mapping i have by Bob will be cheaper again as he can upload my map from his laptop.
So you pay once for the license and then it depends on who maps it as to what you then get charged after that.
I too expected some 'proof' and when i asked for it was suprised that there is none.

I got a little sticker saying "Powered by Ecutek", for £400
My car had also been remapped and AndyF could tell me where and when it was done by looking at the info stored on the ECU.
I suppose you could ask for a printout of the power curve after its been mapped for proof?

I also went to Bob Rawle, top guy. I had invoice and a power/torque graph (See my Plus Profile) e-mailed to me. I was more than happy with this arrangement. As mentioned above subsequant maps will be less, I'm sure I will be seeing Mr R again before to long
