hey guys i got a turbo 2000 standard intercooler (v4) on a 2.5 conversion,aint really got the cash for a front mount but wondered if the sti v4 intercooler is any better?i know the sti 7 intercooler is bigger,but you need the bigger scoop with that dont you.shall i just save for fmic??

you dont need the v7/8 undertray m8 its just better thats all i would personally go for the what you could aford

fmic would be good though, even more so for the bigger engine offers better cooling etc

A Hybrid front mount is probably the most cost effective solution by the time it is fitted. All the Classic top mounts are struggling by a little over 300 bhp and the older ones a good bit earlier than that.
If you want to fit an STi 8 TMIC, that is a big job and you do need the scoop and under tray.

As Harvey says, on a classic, I'd go front mount and pay the extra.

STi7/8 TMIC does benifit from a larger scoop and the under tray, not needed but kinda pointless fitting it without them.
