ok so I was worried about the ticking that I now have figured is the solenoid, mostly audible after a decent run in the car and on cool down at low revs. It's definately the solenoid from what I have figured out from other comments on here.

More worrying is what I believe to be a boost problem?! Sometimes when I floor it the car will rev from 3.5-4.5k without creating drive but almost over rev then the car will catch up with itself if you know what I mean?! I didnt have this problem when I bought the car and all I have done since then is remove and VTA dump valve and fitted the standard re-circ and had all new fluids.

Sorry not the best explanation, but I'm not that mechanically minded!! Are the two problems linked? Can anyone help?!

 

ok just noticed that most will diagnose the over-revving as a clutch on its way out. I thought it might be this but was expecting more slip in first or 2nd if this was the case.
