Default Lightweight underdriven pulleys & squeaky belt!

Morning all,

Had a set of GFB pulleys fitted when I had the cambelt changed last year and they've been fine, apart from when the air is damp- then they screach for a few seconds when starting the car from cold. I've re-adjusted the tension to the recomended limit, but it has made little difference. Anyone know of any 'magic' spray or the like that'll cure this?

cheers
Slim

It's a thought, but it's less than 6 months old!

You can get something called belt dressing which is very good and may stop the screeching. However this might just mask a potential problem.

I'll have a look for that, cheers. Seems to be the power steering pump causing the drag, as if I move the steering wheel even a slight amount, the screaching becomes worse.

Thanks

theres a bolt that pulls the alternator up,(hence tensioning the belt), stoped mine from screaming like a girl,
