Hi all. My mate has just bought an impreza MY95 WRX and the previous owner has fitted a TD06 turbo, a full decat exhaust, HKS panel filter and an uprated stage 1 clutch being the only modifications.

When coming onto full boost the car screams and whistles extremely loud, it sounds like its the turbo. What could it be?

It doesnt sound like it should be making that noise or healthy atal.

Any help would be much appreciated as its putting him off using boost and having any fun atal.

May be a leaking dump valve or split boost pipe, Id look at dump valve first though... Does the car feel down on power???

 

Yeah it does. Well its not slow but you can tell that theres alot more to come but just doesnt.....

 

Mine did this changed the DV back to standard and have not heard it again.
