Default Not Subaru - But Technical :)

Hi guys,

I have a boost problem on a renault 100dci deisel turbo.

The turbo has a wastegate actuator (single port) which connects to a solenoid.

From the solenoid a pipe then goes to a "plastic" device, which has no wires. This plastic device has a pipe that runs to the master cylinder on the brakes.

I am assuming it is using the vacuum from the master cylinder to operate the wastegate actuator (when the solenoid is activated)?

Anyone familiar with this setup?

Many thanks,

K.

can anyone help?

This must be a common setup?

I'd say you're right. The small plastic item with no wires will be a non-return valve.

This one very likely uses a VNT turbo which uses vac to increase boost, exerting a movement on the actuator rod which controls the variable vanes. If you apply more vac you increase the boost, rather than the reverse on a scooby!
