boost problem - could it be my MAF?

Default boost problem - could it be my MAF?

Driving in 5th gear at around 60, pushing down on accelerator the boost cuts it, drops off, back on again and then drops off again, am I doing engine damage, it kinda kangeroos up to 90, I really dont want to damage her, any pointers would be very much appreciated, its a 103k 1999 Wagon UK2000 - thanks guys

ps: im driving around 60 and no faster at the moment

turns out a good clean of this part fixed it worth doing a search

is that the boost solenoid? and how do you clean it? i have the exact same problem as you, but usually when its colder outside.

just fired a loada wd40 down the port holes about 6 times, shook out vigerously, some black bits came out - quick blast up the road and it was gone!

what solenoid is it? a 2port? ive been a little cagey about spraying stuff inside delicate parts, but if wd40 worked for you...

Couldnt tell what make and model it is, pic quality is too bad

its the one attached nearest the bonnet pin switch, the alarm horn/sounder nearest and bolted on to the curved strut housing mounted on a bracket

i meant 2 or three port
