Steering issue
Hi all,
Your thoughts and ideas much appreciated here.
I have a 95 turbo AWD wagon that seems to be getting lighter on the steering by the day!
Every now and again I can turn the steering wheel with hardly any force at all! I know this just sounds like good power steering but at times it feels like I'm turning on ice!
A related issue is that when I'm making a long constant turn at anything over about 30mph (coming off of a motorway flyover for example) the steering wheels seems to twitch a fair bit until I straighten up. It gives me a slightly unsafe feeling as I sometimes find myself trying to counter-act the twitch from the wheel, resulting in slight pulling to the left or right.
Many thanks in advance,
Chris

Thanks for your thoughts here.
Looking at the full service notes I had done in June last year it says "Replace power steering pump reservoir seal" so I assume that's the O-ring you're talking about.
Do these imprezas has servos for the power steering? If so does anyone have any knowledge about them playing up and causing the problems I describe?
Thanks again,
Chris
