Question AFP4H Turbo.

Who's running a TD04 hybrid, namely Andy'F's AFP4H ?

I've done some searching around on here and even though there is not a massive amount of info available what there is sounds good.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this one

Thanks
Simon

Hey Simon, my dad has one on his bugeye. I can imagine that on a classic due to such a lack of weight that it will feel awesome. Punchy power, and enough of it Match it to some ported headers and you've got a winner for response!

I have one of these turbos. It's fantastic. No loss of spool and similar gains to many a VF35.

View My Scooby for my supporting mods and power figures/delta dash graph.

Hey Taff.

I did a pretty detailed review on mine when I got it, as you'll see below. Unfortunately the thread was trolled by "Audilover", but you get the picture, anyway.

Hi Kosta now it's funny you should say that as I have some ported headers and up pipe on the way next week hopefully plus I have the Samco kit for the top mount to get it breathing a lot more efficiantly.

Hi Jock

Damn good write up there ! very informative indeed

I'm due to have mine mapped in April at some point and have been looking into things a bit deeper. As you see I have some ported headers etc to go on the car as well, I've considered a couple of options so far...

1. Just have the car mapped with the standard TD04.
2. Drop a VF28 on... I've decided against this as the bhp producted I feel will take the car close to it's safe standard limit with the gear box etc and I will be running with the standard top mount still, no plans to go FMIC here at all.

At the moment I thought the safest thing to do was leave the TD04 in place and just enjoy a map around that and my mods but this hybrid does make me think I know it's dangerous to think at times with the power being around 300bhp that I feel makes it a safer option than the VF28 would be plus more importantly the drivability is there, that's exhactly what I want from mine opposed to all out power with increased lag.

The chances of finding a second hand one would be quite slim I imagine

If you view my profile you can see the mod list for mine so far, things under bonnet are relatively standard compared to some.

Thanks moto great info there as well and a nice looking sleeper you have

Now what to do

Try to fit a newage intercooler, even just a WRX one, as it's a fair bit bigger than a classics standard one and will help a bit I think. I've got one going if you want it

I would go for the hybrid, do it. It'll save you thinking, what would it be like to have the hybrid.
Get it done, don't forget an uprated fuel pump?

I've done some research on the top mount that's on there now and as it is the last of the classic versions it gives good results so unless I go to the new age Sti one I don't know just how much of a difference that would make, plus I've got my Samco turbo hose kit now as well

Got the fuel pump to go on

I'm trying not to go down the road of multipal maps, I want to do it once and do it right
