Default Simtek + Boost controller?

Hey all,

Looking at getting the Simtek for my car when I'm ready to get the car mapped - most likely get it done up at APi. Simply because I've not seen a bad word about it, and it allows plenty of room for as much power as I'd like (plus the funky antilag - just for the noise mind ). Anyway, has anyone mapped the Simtek for use with an additional boost controller such as an AVCR, or is there no need for this at all? Not something I'm looking at doing right away, but I don't think I've read anything about it anyways?

Cheers

the simtek is capable of twin maps and hence twin boost levels, no need for a seperate boost controller.

I thought people bought the boost controllers, not for the different levels, but for the greater control of the boost throughout the gears?

the simtek when coupled with a 3 port boost solenoid hold the boost levels very very well & has in gear boost levels.

I think he means the AVCR which can run different boost at different RPM's, If so you wont need one as the SimTek has 3d boost mapping which does the same thing.

Good timing on this thread, i was going to ask a very similar question

I already have an AVCR but am have a Simtek fitted in a couple of weeks, and was wondering if i should keep the AVCR or if the Simtek was good enough not to need it. By renno rannes answer it look like i'll be ok to sell it, the thing i like about the AVCR is the gear dependant control, so u can make the same boost in lower gears
