hello i have a 96 ra ith 2.0l engine and im putting ina 6 speed box out a new sti.
my question is do i need to buy a 6 speed clutch or a 5 speed clutch and what is the diference.

i was told that you dont need to change the clutch by a well known tuner ,sure if i was informed wrong someone will correct me

i dont see there is a difference unless the 6 speed shaft has more splines or is larger. im useing a 230 sized twin plate but just want to make sure. and if thay are the same why do companys sell for 5 and 6 speed if there the same.

I`ve been informed the 5 speed clutch will fit. Also to make it easier a prop shaft from a classic automatic wrx as they are shorter and that makes it easier to fit. I think the only other things you need are the 6 speed gear linkage and a matching rear diff.

you can use either with the matching flywheel assembly,
the 6spd clutch is larger and fits inside the larger 6spd bell housing, but you can't use a 6spd in a 5spd box...........
