Default Turbo Help

Please can someone help, I think either my turbo or BOV is knackered, I have a 95 classic 2.0 Wagon, tis drives lovely until i go over 3500 revs then starts to splutter like is running out of fuel then if I drop the rev's it fine again up until about a week ago the car would easily reach 140 mph now struggles to reach 100mph
I am assuming its to do with one of these items as I normally feel the boost from the turbo around 3500 revs.
I have checked all the pipes for splits everything else seems fine I was going to tak ethe turbo off for inspection just wondered if I was missing something else?

Thanks for that I will check those also, I think it may be due some new plugs, one other observation I have made today is that before the problem my dump valve gave of a nice sound as it released the air, now its is very very faint, is this still due to the fact that I'm not getting any turbo boost, would this further suggest that the waste gate isn't operating properly or the dump valve is stuck open, the car is drinking more petrol that normal usually I get 200 miles to 55 litres, I have only done 140 miles on the current tank.

Replace the BOV with a standard one i did this on my 93wrx and the car was running a lot better.
if the car is drinking more then maybe the lambda sensor needs checking.
