I was told by taking the battery leads off and leaving for an hr would remove check ligh and my problem,,,It did for about 10 mins then it came back on and the car wouldnt rev over 4500rpm..safe mode so im told..does anyone know why this is happening

It surprises me that the immediate solution to a CEL is to reset the ecu to get rid of it rather than finding out what the issue was that made it come on.
Find out what the code is first then figure out what to do about it:

As above, you MUST find out why the CEL is there; there is no point in trying to disregard it or over-ride it. Safe mode engages to protect the engine, so if you just ignore it, there is a good chance that whatever activated it will do some damage!
Get it to a specialist; it'll take them all of 5 mins to tell you whats up!
