Hi all, just returned from my 2nd trip to get car mapped, 1st time on monday it wouldnt see the correct amount of boost so had to go back today to get the restrictor modified, was all going well, 283BHP and rising, then on came the engine light, cyl 4 misfire reconised, erased and ten min later came back on, erased and came on again, tho engine is very quiet, no knocks/rattles, oil / coolent all ok, slight 'wobble' from the engine on tick over.......

I was asked the question about the spark plugs, when were they changed etc, lol there were done just before i had it.....

We recon this is the prob, spark plugs or coil pack on number 4 cylinder.... job for tomorrow, find some NGK PFR7B'S , fit them and swap coils around to see if misfire moves to different cylinder... hopefully its just plugs

Drove it home tonight anyway off boost with no prob just ecl light on...

will see what the plugs are like, then another trip to get mapped again!

got to do mine to, was having stutter on boost when hot so bot the 7's to fit

 

yea pfr7b is what been told to get set the gap to 0.4mm too, recon halfords do em? if not will try local motor factors tomorrow

 

got mine off fleebay, £29 delivered

 

got some today and fitted them, 33 quid, not too bad...

tho the engine has stopped jerking, and seems to have cleared the misfire..... tho has a flat spot from 2000 rpm to about 3500rpm, tho if rev the car quick enought it revs through it. hmmmmm, suspecting coil pack now, swapped 3 and 4 coils , will plug it in my mates computer and see if the misfire moves to cyl 3.....
