Hi!

A friend of mine wants to put the STi V8 Engine/Drivetrain etc. into a Justy..

I know it's a lot of work.. maybe not possible..
yesterday he asked me about the immobilizer!
Does the STi V8 ECU have got an immobilizer, if so is it possible to get it run?
He gets a whole STi V8 engine, drivetrain, brakes etc.. from a crashed one!

Possible to get it run or not possible because of the immobilizer?

Does have an immobiliser, nothing a wedge of cash to subaru couldn't sort though. I bet he could get it all to fit with a lot of work, and a lot shorter driveshafts etc.

 

that's his problem i only want to know how to get the ECU working..
with a Power FC or other aftermarket ECu it won't be a problem won't be it?

 

I think I'm right saying that the JDM STi's dont come with the immobiliser board on the ECU... but then I have no idea if they would run a Justy.
To be honest, with such a one-off car thats going to need a few custom bits fabricated, I wouldn't think the price of an aftermarket ECU is going to take things too far.

Would be an awesome project though.
