Fuel mix and match help
Folks,
I am looking at adding some extra horses to the car in the next mapping session.
Was thinking of maybe adding some race fuel (10% approx/300mls) to a full tank of V-Power.
Has anyone done this and is it safe? I know there is another option of Methanol but thought I'd ask the Race Fuel question first as I am looking at buying some tomorrow.
It works out alot cheaper over time to buy a barrel of 114octane race fuel rather than keep having to buy NF octane booster.
Regards
Steve

I'm stuck on the maths but I'm trying to work out the RON rating of the final mix if adding 300ml of 114 RON to 60 litres of V power.... doesn't seem much of a percentage increase to me
I've got a 12 litre tank of methanol / water in the boot hooked up to an aquamist system LOL

Granted. Maybe I haven't conducted myself to well but thats one of my main points. If anyone has done this mix whats it worth adding to a tank of V-Power?
My main point is to mainly save money on buying Octane booster (NF) as buying a barrel of Race Fuel over time works out a lot cheaper.
So maybe 300mls is not enough (remember this is a whole adding of NF) so would you suggest say add a min of 1ltr of Race Fuel to get a better result?
I'm not to clued up on this side of things. I know there are some folk out there who carry out such tests etc.
Any help or advice more than welcome.

Yes mapped on a % of race fuel. Hence why I need to take into account what needs to be added etc.
I will be making some fuel up in a tank/bottle ready for each fill up (like adding octane booster at each fill up.
Im not good at getting my idea across am I? LOL

If you run 10% racefuel at 114RON blended with V-Power (99.6RON), the resulting RON of the mix will be a fraction over 101RON (90% x 99.6 + 10% x114). This is not a massive increase in RON for the cost of chucking in 5L of expensive racefuel to every 45L of V-Power.
Much better to use 10% methanol - it can be purchased for less per litre than V-Power - or a good dose of NF, which can be had for around £11-12 per bottle if you bulk buy
