Default boost question

ive got a 1995 wrx import

now boost comes in around 3000rpm sometimes just over, can you make the boost come in quicker or does that happen with mods?

Thats pretty good for a 95 import, the TD05 is laggy compared to the TD04 but better for top end power.

notice on motorway yesterday thats its quite nippy from 80 upwards

Top end meaning from 4000rpm onwards so any gear. The td04 is smaller so comes in quicker then runs out of puff so you have to change gear quicker, both have pros and cons.

mods I'm afraid.

Usually in the form of headers, uppipe, electronic boost controller (though not necessarily in that order)
